COTTINGHAM DAY 2012

Saturday 7 July

The parade will leave the Hallgate School entrance in King Street at 12 noon - led by "THE QUEEN" in a horse drawn carriage - yes, that's right - Her majesty (or at least her number one lookalike) will be officially opening Cottingham Day.   As our tribute to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee our event takes on a distinct 1950's feel.   On stage we will have a jive band performing and see if you can spot ELVIS!

Whether you prefer two wheels or four we aim to cater for all tastes!   Once again, displayed on Hallgate, we have one of the largest displays of Classic, Vintage, American and Street cars ever seen in Cottingham.   Don't miss the Motor bike display in the car park of the Memorial Club in Finkle Street.

To keep the kids amused, Granddad's Park will be full of fun with rides, shows and entertainment, and, just a note for all you dog lovers out there, the Dog Show will be starting at midday as usual.

The Civic Hall will be full of charity stalls, spilling over into the Darby & Joan Hall as well.

Market Green will be a hive of activity with a full programme of entertainment on the stage as usual, with plenty of seats to give your feet a rest inbetween enjoying the activities for all.

For everyone's safety we have arranged for King Street (between its junctions with Hallgate and South Street) to be closed for the actual event and temporary bus stops will be placed on South Street and on Hallgate near to St. Mary's Church.
